Okay so, I was doing tombs with my assassin, and Rawlinson's shadowform build, and I wondered if It would work in uw.
I switched dark escape with shadow refuge, and thats it @_o.

Shrouded set with major (or sup) vigor, sup critical strikes, and sup shadow arts.

An enchants 20% longer set of daggers

1) Go behind the staircases opposite of your target.
2) Equip the 20% enchants and Cast Shadow of Haste, and echo.
3) Before aggroing, cast Shadowform, and Empathy (make sure you have at least 10 energy before Empathy is done casting, and equip the zealous daggers.)
4) Cast Shadow Refuge, because of the Aatxe's Deadly Riposte, and start attacking
5) Attack normal until hit by Deadly Riposte, use Black lotus, Black Spider, and Twisting Fangs. Equip back the 20% enchants daggers.
6) Renew Empathy, Shadowform and shadow refuge. By now the Aatxe should have used Deadly Riposte again.
7) Use the combo one more time, and make sure that he does not dodge any of your skills.
8) If you do it right, you should have killed the Aatxe, and will teleport back in a few seconds. Sometimes you may not have done enough damage, but dont worry, he'll most likely die from poison + bleeding.
9) If he does not die, just repeat all steps, preferably before he regens all his hp.
10) Loot time! w00t w00t.

This works on Aatxes, Graspings, and Dyings. Thats all i've tried so far.

So what's your method if a nightmare pops up while you fight the aataxes?

He uses shadow form - prevents spells from activating. As Rend Enchantments is a spell, nightmares pose no threat.

Dying nightmares die in 2 or 3 hits so its not really a problem.And yeah, Shadowform prevents all spells from being casted on you.

the smites will rip u apart-they use SoJ so u sill still get KD, Zelots Fire so u still take dmg, and mend condition so deep wound and other stuff wont work

There's absolutely no point of bringing visage, with SForm, all attacks target you miss. And Visages only trigger when you are hit. I've thought of this build before. No go.

As above posters have stated- Smites use both SoJ and Zealot's Fire, along with Smite Hex and Mend Condition...you can't apply bleed and everything else will get removed as you're slowly ticked down by ZF via Reversals.

You'd have to kill the Grasping Darknesses to get the door open...they're fast-attacking, have an interrupt that doesn't need to hit, don't bleed, and are rather hard to run/teleport away from due to the fact that they'll follow you around the entire room.

He said you can solo the graspings. Most likely you kill all ataxes, then kill the right group "if standing on start" then go to the top of those stairs use SoH, kill the patrol group, then repeat for the last group of 4.

.. i havent tried it or anything

Well, I dunno what grasping your talking about, but the ones I killed didn't interupt me, or didn't follow me across the whole thing. But oh well =P

And yeah, clear the area of aatxes before getting the quest that brings in the graspings.

Works for me. =D
